SeedGuard offers two possibilities of certification for foreign treatment sites:

SeedGuard Certification System

The SeedGuard provides prospective seed treatment sites with a voluntary certification system to meet the national and european requirements for adequate and environmentally-friendly seed treatment. Therefore SeedGuard continuously develops the system specifications further to meet the legal requirements and practical needs of the industry
strives for ongoing and constructive dialogue with the government agencies responsible, with the technical divisions of the ministries and the downstream seed treatment research institutes. The Seedguard certification is recognized by the European Seed Assurance (ESA) and the german authorities The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) and Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants (JKI).

ESTA Certification System

ESTA is the voluntary standard of the European Seed Assurance (ESA) on quality assurance for seed treatment and treated seed. It is meant to be a general basis for quality assurance of seed treatments that include plant protection products. ESTA is a standard to support the industry. ESTA has been designed to be compatible with ISO 9001 (Quality management systems - Requirements), ISO/IEC Guide 65 – ISO/EN 45011 (General requirements for bodies operating product certification systems) and ISO/IEC 17065 (Conformity assessment-Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services). Companies certified to the ESTA standard reliably treat seed with plant protection products, resulting in quality products (treated seed) for the end user: farmer, grower, plant raiser or contractor.

ESTA is only operated by Agents, like SeedGuard. The seed treatment sites shall arrange with SeedGuard all the administrative details of the scheme. How to apply.
